
Day 1 (Saturday) France – Sofia - Samokov
Arrival at the airport of Sofia. Transfer to Samokov (to 69 km). Accommodation in a 3-star family hotel. Dinner and night.
Day 2 (Sunday) Rila (85km)
Breakfast. Departure for Rila where lies the biggest and probably the most impressive monastery of the Balkan Peninsula: The Monastery of Rila. This majestic monument of the Bulgarian culture from the Middle Ages is classified in the world heritage of UNESCO because of its architecture and its frescos, inherited from the time of the Bulgarian Rebirth.
Lunch in a local restaurant.
Continuation for a visit of the National park of Rila with a pristine nature, also protected by UNESCO. Return to Samokov. Dinner and night in the hotel.
Day 3 (Monday) Borovets (10km)
After breakfast, departure for Borovets, the biggest and the most prestigious winter resort in Bulgaria in terms of comfort and of sporting facilities. Trekking in nature in summer or skiing down the slopes in winter, many activities are waiting for you in this open space in fresh air.
Lunch: a picnic carried from the hotel.
Free afternoon for strolls and return to Samokov.
Dinner and night in the family hotel.
Day 4 (Thuesday) Sofia
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure for the capital. Visits of the architectural heritage: The National Museum of History, that occupy the most luxurious residence from the Communist regime. The Boyana Church, registered in the world heritage of UNESCO because of its exceptional frescos, considered as one of the first signs of the Rebirth in Europe.
Lunch in a local restaurant.
Continuation towards the Palace Of Culture, the greatest multipurpose complex in South-east Europe, used for cultural events or business meetings. It contains 13 halls and 55 conference rooms. Stopping in front of the Cathedral Alexandar Nevski, and the the Rotunda of Saint George located in the back court of the Presidency…
Return to Samokov. Dinner and night in the family hotel.
Day 5 (Wednesday) Samokov
Breakfast. Departure for the Beliova Church (the White Church), one of its vaults has existed since the IIIth century. Visit of the large fountain that is the symbol of the town of Samokov. Close to it rises the Tower of the Clock. Its mechanism was manufactured in Dalmatia in 1630, then brought by the Turks as spoils of war in the XVIIth century.
Lunch in a restaurant.
Continuation and visit of the Monastery for women “Pokrov Bogoroditchen” founded in the XVIIth century.
Return to Samokov. Dinner and night in the hotel.
Day 6 (Thursday) Free day in Samokov
After breakfast we remain at your disposal to accompany you if you wish to buy souvenirs or to use us as driver, guide and translator.
Lunch in a typical restaurant.
Special dinner with traditional music and dances. Night in the hotel.
Day 7 (Friday) Sofia –France
Breakfast.
Transfer to the airport of Sofia according to the schedule of your return flight.
